WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ROOM
The first forty minutes is group work. Every student is on their feet and in it — nobody watches this part from a chair.
Then we work singers individually in front of the room, six to eight minutes each. They bring music they're already working on. No preparation is required from them, and nothing is required from you beyond a room and a piano.
In ninety minutes, six to eight singers go through the full transformation while the room watches it happen. The watching is not passive: everyone has already done the group work themselves, so they can see exactly what is being changed and why.
WHAT THEY WALK OUT WITH
A repeatable process for finding the character inside a song — not a one-time breakthrough that's gone by Friday.
Language for what they're doing, so it survives into the next piece and into your rehearsals after I've gone.
A performance-ready pass at the piece they brought.
The same access an actor is trained for, applied to whatever they sing next.

You provide a room and a piano or a speaker.
Travel included within 30 miles of Fort Worth; $0.67/mile beyond that.

FORMATS & FEES
- Group session — 60 min, up to 30 students — $350
The five-step method, taught and practiced by the whole room. No individual masterclass performances — best for a full cast you want moving together before tech.
- Full workshop — 90 min, up to 30 students — $450 (recommended)
The group session plus six to eight individual transformations worked in front of the room. This is the format directors talk about afterward.
- Half day — 2 × 90 min, two groups, one visit — $750
- Faculty session — 45 min, for teachers, not students — $150 (add-on to any booking, or standalone)
- Residency — 3 visits across a production cycle — $1,200

Your students know how to prepare an aria. Most of them do not know where work comes from, what to charge for it, how to be found, or who to send anything to.
Nobody teaches it, because it is nobody's course. The result shows up three or four years after graduation, in the ones who are still good, still singing, and stuck on the part that was never on the syllabus.
This is one hour on that part.
Not how to do any single thing — what the things are. What a singer's product actually is. What has to exist before someone can hire them. How to build a plan around the realities they are living in, not the ones in a brochure. And how to ask for help, which almost nobody is taught and almost everybody is ashamed of needing.
WHAT THEY LEAVE WITH
A printed checklist, and an honest sense of which pieces they are missing. Knowing which piece is missing is most of the work.
WHO IT IS FOR
Upper-division performance and music education majors. Graduate singers about to leave a structure that has held them for six years. Recent alumni — the strongest fit, and the group most departments have the least contact with. Faculty are welcome in the room; several have told me afterward that nobody gave them this either.
